Our Story
At Shahpfer Wines, it has been a journey of experimentation as we have cultivated grapes. It began with a handful of cabernet sauvignon and merlot grapevines on the slopes of our property in California now to Maryland. The journey began in 2014, when a passion for wine was transformed into a dedicated vineyard operation.
Our Land
Young cabernet sauvignon and merlot vines were planted on an Oakland, CA slope in 2014. The terroir is strongly influence by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay which helps maintain cool nighttime temperatures and typically warm, sun-filled days that creates a wonderful grape growing climate.
Our Wines
My goal is to produce French-styled wines with a focus on Bordeaux and Rhone inspired reds.
